Telecare Participates in First Virtual Career Fair

The California State University at Channel Islands (CSUCI) hosted its 2020 Spring Career & Internship Fair on Wednesday, April 8.

Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, the event took place entirely online. The virtual fair was a first for Telecare and it proved to be a fun and innovative way to connect to potential candidates.

To prepare, students were able to review the list of companies participating in the event and used the Career Fair Plus app to submit their resumes and contact information. Participating employers used the same app to review candidate information, schedule interview times, and designate the platform they wished to conduct the interview from.

According to the CSUCI Career Development & Alumni Engagement department, a total of 32 employers, 44 recruiters, and 200 students participated in the event.

The event coordinator also shared with us that Telecare had the most views, was the most favorited, and had interview slots fill up the fastest! In total, we had 17 scheduled interviews and found strong candidates for positions at our Camarillo Casas (Stonehenge, Recovery Starship, House of Transition, and Brighter Tomorrows), Horizon View MHRC, and Ventura VISTA and VOICE programs.

We want to give a huge shout out to Heather Nicholson who represented Telecare at the event and for trying out this new way of finding talent for our wonderful programs. Thank you for all of your hard work!
