Telecare’s History in San Diego County

Welcome to San Diego County, CA! Located in Southern California, San Diego County is California's second most populous county, with more than 3.3 million people over 4,200 square miles.

Telecare debuted in San Diego County when we opened Gateway to Recovery in 1995. Since then, we’ve opened 15 additional programs between 1998 and 2023, doing our best to deliver excellent care to clients and meet the needs of our customer.

Telecare Programs in San Diego County

Telecare proudly operates 16 programs within the county. As of 2/16/24, we served 4,637 unique individuals so far during FY23-24, and we still have a few months left in this fiscal year to add to that number. As a company, we’re helping to address the critical mental health needs of this growing region by operating crisis residential treatment centers, crisis stabilization units, mental health urgent care centers, and acute psychiatric health facilities.

Why are these programs so important in the system of care? They help people get through crisis, avoid unnecessary hospitalization, and return to their regular lives — and recovery journey — as soon as possible.
