Program Type: Community-Based
To Make Referrals: Referrals are received for guests if they present with a behavioral health concern or if referred by nursing/site management due to behavioral health needs.
Who We Serve: San Diego County citizens who show symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals may also have a serious mental illness and are not able to live in their own home due to risk to household members who are immunosuppressed or are currently experiencing homelessness.
Hours of Operation: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
About the Program: Telecare was requested by San Diego County to run the Vida C-19 program — an emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since March, San Diego County has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by offering rooms in hotels to individuals who either cannot isolate or do not have a place to isolate. Housing vulnerable community members and others who have or are suspected of having
COVID-19 both combats the spread of the disease and the burden on local hospitals as the pandemic escalates.
